Outpatient clinical psychiatric services are offered in both private and educational environments at several locations. Our main clinic is in the Ambulatory Care Bldg, 2nd floor, room 2247 (contact info below). Faculty physicians are available to see private patients in a confidential setting, and patients are also seen in our general clinic staffed with medical students, residents and attending psychiatrists. Several of our psychiatric physicians also deliver patient care through the local community mental health centers. Our department has a major responsibility for care of patients with mental health problems in our community. We have a busy, 51-bed inpatient service that was expanded in July of 2002 from 33 beds. The consult and day-call programs provide assistance to other inpatient and outpatient services on site, as well as supplying close support and evaluation of acutely mentally ill patients in the Emergency Department during the day.
